First thing Wednesday morning the City Elections were held in each city. Here we see a citizen voting.

Each city held their own elections.

The gym became the County Board of Elections where the cities making up each county came to vote for their choice of candidates at the primary election.

Here we see a citizen casting her ballot. The Ashland County Board of Elections brings in actual voting booths to lend reality to the delegates.

Each city casts their vote for the county and state offices.

Once the voting is over, the citizens anxiously check the election results.

Delegates check to see if their candidate of choice was successful.

Wednesday night is the City Celebration. The BGS Chorus performs before the festivities begin.

Delegates attending enjoy the chorus and band before the arrival of the city mayors.

The 25 City Mayors are escorted in to the celebration hall by their respective City Government Advisors.

As part of the celebration, each City Mayor is introduced to the assembly and the mayor gives a brief biography of the Famous Ohio Woman for whom the city was named after.

A representative from the Ashland Mayor’s office gives all 25 BGS Mayors their oath of office.

Guest speaker, Gene Jarman of the West Carrollton Police Department, addresses the delegates. His opening was the top 10 reasons we love Buckeye Girls State.
